We are the direct connection between the farms and your table! Here at Detwiler’s, we support our local organic and sustainable farms. Farming done the way it’s supposed to be done! The farms we work with are small family owned farms that need the support of the local community.
Fruit and Vegetables don’t come any fresher then what we deliver to your door! We pick our produce the day before delivery. You can visit our website every week starting on a Monday for that week’s box makeup. Each week we put together a nice variety of veggies and fruits, depending on what the farm is picking that particular week. You will have the choice to choose out of 2 different delivery options. Allow us to save you time and money by bringing you local and organic produce directly from the farm right to your door!

I grew up on a small, family owned produce farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Located in the heart of Amish country! My dad taught all 13 of us kids, the value of hard work. Year after year, I learned from him the process of growing vegetables. From start to finish. Its a process that takes patience and gentleness! Every year in February, it was time to sow the seeds. Several weeks later after they germinated, we would take the many flats of sprouted seeds, and transplant them into individual pots so they could grow into a strong enough plant to withstand the weather in the field. I enjoyed those times spent with my family working long hours in the greenhouse! Transplant time always meant Spring was right around the corner!!! Depending on the weather, most years, around the end of April beginning of May we would start planting our early crops in the field. Many long hours were spent tilling the land and getting everything planted! It was hard and sometimes exhausting, but a lot of fun!!! :) Growing up in this environment, year after year, instilled in me a passion for working with other local small farms, passing on what I have learned over the years to help them to be more successful, and at the same time, promote organic principles & sustainable practices, so that our communities and our families, have a fruit and vegetable that is GOOD for them!
Commercial farms are on the rise! Every year countless of farms (farms that are farming the way it should be done) are forced to close due to import markets being cheaper! Pesticides, chemicals, steroids, are being used at a staggering rate! Anything and Everything! Whatever it takes to get a larger fruit, a higher yield & an earlier crop to hit the higher priced markets. I can go on and on about this. My point is that conventional farming has turned into producing Benjamin franklins, instead of producing a natural, highly nutritious fruit! Our Families health has now become a gamble for the highest bidder,a longer lasting fruit, a prettier product. NONE OF THIS is the way God designed it to be!
I am asking each one of you for your help, to support our local Organic farmers, to build your families health and well being, to stand for farming done the way it should be!
